The world's first alcohol-removed Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is already making a splash.
We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to our 0% alcohol wine – the world’s first alcohol-removed Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
In case you missed it, we launched Giesen 0% in February and have had amazing feedback.
People contacted us to ask when it would be available from our hometown of Marlborough, to Australia, to the United States and UK. We had stories shared with us from people who haven’t been able to drink alcohol due to illness, health and well-being, and how they’re excited to feel more included in social occasions with friends and family again through enjoying a glass of wine.
And most of all, our New Zealand friends and family wowed us by placing more than 300 pre-orders in the space of a week and a half, so they could be among the first in the world to taste it. Our online store is completely sold out, but don’t worry – the next allocation of stock is due to hit supermarket shelves in mid-March if it hasn’t already!

WHAT THE CRITICS HAD TO SAY
Master of Wine, Bob Campbell, was the first to trial our newest edition. He experienced a blind taste that included Giesen 0% and two other alcohol-removed Sauvignon Blanc wines from overseas. Our was his favourite, displaying the most varietal characteristics and a traditional dry finish.
Wine writers Yvonne Lorkin and Mary-Therese Blair (known as Mermaid Mary) were impressed with the blend – both experienced in tasting other alcohol-free wines previously. We were over the moon with their responses!

We’ve been the talk of the town, which shouldn’t be a surprise given this wine was a world first! While there are other alcohol-removed wines out there, ours is the first from one of the most distinctive wine regions in the world, Marlborough.
The story of our Chief Winemaker, Nikolai St George, being inspired to create the alcohol-removed blend was shared on Radio New Zealand, TVNZ, and Newshub. He was featured in the Marlborough Express and chatted with Kathryn Ryan on radio.
