Stump Creek vineyard is where the Giesen brothers live and host guests when in Marlborough. Like a true rugby loving family they even have a miniature rugby field out the back of their house on the vineyard!
Stump Creek vineyard is the home of the Giesen brothers. This is where they stay when they’re in Marlborough. They love nothing more than hosting guests in their home, cooking beautiful meals, displaying their culinary skills.
If you’re invited to Stump Creek, bring a rugby ball. There is a half size rugby field out the back of the Giesen brothers house. Afterwards, you can cool off in their pool and later ease out any aches and sores in their spa pool.
Stump Creek vineyard grows Sauvignon Blanc & Gewurztraminer. There is a reviving garden full of fruit and flowers, and even has free range chickens.
Planted in 1996, the soil has good topsoil depth and heavy with underlying clays. It is 9km from the coast and 2km from Wairau river and has good water holding capacity.
Lower cropping on this vineyard delivers more citrus, tamarillo, passionfruit flavours. Fruit from the older vines have great intensity.
