Lighter in Alcohol

Sauvignon Blanc

A Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that is 25% lighter in alcohol than our standard Giesen Estate Sauvignon Blanc. A lighter in alcohol wine with delicious concentration and exuberance typical of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

With all the great flavour of a Sauvignon Blanc but naturally lighter in alcohol, this soft, refreshing wine offers hints of crisp apple wrapped up with delicious passionfruit.

Sauvignon Blanc fruit is sourced from across the length and breadth of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough.

Giesen Estate

Great wines are the ones we remember sharing with family and friends - that’s why we created Giesen Estate. Our Estate wines showcase distinctive regional varieties which are generous, smooth, relaxing and most of all, taste great!

Winemaking

The fruit is harvested early, which is then pressed to tank for fermentation.

A controlled ferment with hand selected yeast ensures aroma and fruit character are retained.

The ferment is stopped early to ensure lighter alcohol in the wine.

The wine is blended soon after fermentation is completed, and then bottled.

Reviews

"The wine offers all the classic sauvignon flavours of passionfruit, rockmelon, nectarine and lime zest with vibrant mouthfeel and refreshing acidity. It is brightly expressed and delightfully drinkable, and finishes lingering and refreshing. 9%. At its best: now to 2019. "
