Certified by BioGro New Zealand, our Giesen Organic Pinot Noir delivers a full-bodied, exceptional wine.
This limited edition organic Pinot Noir is from the Southern Valleys, from high-density, certified organic vineyards.
Every attention is lavished upon our organic vines which are hand tended, picked and sorted.
This is a Pinot Noir with delicious intensity, which is realised when you take a sip with a smooth, silky texture delivering ripe cherry and wild berry flavours which finish long and elegant thanks to its perfect balance.
We believe legacy is vital, so we aim to leave the land better than we found it. That’s why we're passionate about organics - as a means of improving the environment. And as an added bonus, the Giesen brothers are delighted by the quality of the grapes and the rich, intense wines resulting from our premium organic fruit.
Marlborough - Southern Valleys
Every care in the winery is taken to ensure the stunning organic fruit shines through.
Once fruit was gently de-stemmed, it was added to open top fermenters by gravity, cold soaked to allow the early development of colour and flavour prior to fermentation, delicate hand plunging of the ferments and 14 days maceration to maximise flavour.
After maceration, wine was gently pressed with free run wine aged in French oak 300L barrels for 12 months.
This wine then received a further 24 months bottle ageing before release to create superb complexity.

"Sweet fruits – red and black cherry – were again a strong feature, this time with oak making an attractive appearance. There’s excellent balance and line through the mouth, with fine tannins and a refreshing touch of acidity to finish. Caillard found, “Strawberry, redcurrant, raspberry aromas with herb notes. Generous and supple with fresh red cherry fruits, fine plentiful chalky tannins and well-balanced vanilla toasty oak complexity. Finishes al dente firm with persistent, fresh red fruits.”
One of only 3 wines awarded 5 Stars.

"This stylish pinot shows perfumed aromas of dark plum, violet, spicy oak, game and subtle vanilla on the nose. The palate is equally attractive with succulent fruit flavours and richly textured mouthfeel, wonderfully framed by fine-grained tannins. It’s sturdy and velvety at the same time, finishing impressively long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2029.
