Crafted from Small Parcels of Fruit.
Small premium parcels of fruit from Awatere Valley.
Awatere Valley is a premium sub-region in Marlborough. Slightly cooler, drier & windier than Wairau Valley.
Fruit from the Awatere Valley delivers more texture & has more ageability.
Sauvignon Blanc fruit from Awatere gives tropical aromatics such as grilled pineapple & dry herbs.
Sustainably grown & certified.
Use a mix of inoculated and wild inoculated yeasts.
90% of the blend is fermented in tank, this gives lovely fruit characteristics.
5-10% of the wine is aged in a mix of French & German oak barrels, sizes 300L – 1,000L. This gives weight, texture & ageability to the Sauvignon Blanc.
Aged on lees for 3 to 4 months to give lovely mouth-feel.
The Small Batch collection are wines crafted from small parcels of fruit that capture the attention of our winemakers. These parcels are individually tended to in the winery to ensure they truly represent the vineyard.
Awatere Valley, Marlborough
"This is instantly appealing on the nose showing passionfruit, kiwifruit, golden peach and lemon/lime zest aromas. The concentrated palate delivers excellent fruit purity combined with fine texture and mouth-watering acidity, finishing impressively long and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2025.
2021 Vintage; Reviewed July 2021."
