Small premium parcels of fruit from Awatere Valley.
Awatere Valley is a premium sub-region in Marlborough. Slightly cooler, drier & windier than Wairau Valley.
Fruit from the Awatere Valley delivers more texture & has more ageability.
Sauvignon Blanc fruit from Awatere gives tropical aromatics such as grilled pineapple & dry herbs.
Sustainably grown & certified.
Use a mix of inoculated and wild inoculated yeasts.
90% of the blend is fermented in tank, this gives lovely fruit characteristics.
5-10% of the wine is aged in a mix of French & German oak barrels, sizes 300L – 1,000L. This gives weight, texture & ageability to the Sauvignon Blanc.
Aged on lees for 3 to 4 months to give lovely mouth-feel.
