Over the years, Giesen Estate Riesling has earned multiple trophies and gold medals, building a reputation as one of New Zealand’s most recognised and enjoyed Rieslings. It continues to lead the category nationally in both value and volume. Quite simply, it has become a favourite.
A legacy shaped by heritage
We have been crafting Riesling for more than three decades, drawing inspiration from the Giesen brothers’ German heritage. Our Estate Riesling follows a Germanic Spätlese style, where fermentation is gently stopped before the wine ferments dry.
The result is naturally lower alcohol, delicate sweetness and a beautiful balance between freshness, concentration and mouth-watering acidity.

Giesen Estate Riesling
Giesen Estate Riesling brings together fruit from two outstanding cool-climate regions: Waipara in North Canterbury and Marlborough. Waipara contributes lifted aromatics and purity, while Marlborough adds citrus depth, texture and ageing potential.
Expect aromas of lime, mandarin and subtle spice. The palate is vibrant and juicy, with natural sweetness balanced by bright acidity. A versatile food wine that pairs beautifully with fresh, aromatic dishes.
Giesen 0% Alcohol Riesling
Made from premium, full-strength New Zealand Riesling, our 0% Alcohol Riesling retains the varietal character you expect, with the alcohol gently removed using spinning cone technology.
The result is a wine with no more than 0.5% alc/vol and significantly fewer calories than traditional Riesling. Aromatically expressive, crisp and refreshing, it delivers classic Riesling notes with balance and vibrancy.
Gemstone Riesling
Gemstone Riesling is sourced from a single vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough, selected for purity and concentration.
Part of the blend is fermented and matured in handcrafted granite tanks carved from solid rock. Granite allows gentle oxygen exchange while maintaining cool, stable temperatures, supporting slow fermentation and layered texture.
Expect tangerine and lime aromatics with hints of tropical fruit. The palate shows mandarin, lemon sherbet and tight acidity, balanced by subtle sweetness and a long, moreish finish.
Giesen Mosel Riesling
Inspired by family heritage, our Mosel Riesling is grown in the village of Reil in Germany’s Mosel region. Steep slate vineyards and mature vines produce fruit with striking minerality and precision.
Look for aromas of citrus blossom, orange marmalade and delicate floral notes. The palate is vibrant and structured, with bright acidity and a lingering finish.
