This is Riesling with real energy. Sourced from Waipara and Marlborough, it delivers vibrant citrus, a fragrant lift, and a mouth-watering off-dry finish that feels crisp, not heavy.

The 2023/24 season shifted into an El Niño-driven pattern, bringing dry conditions to the east. In Waipara, early frosts and challenging flowering reduced yields. Midsummer delivered the region’s hottest day since 2021, reaching 36.9°C, while overall temperatures sat near average. With early autumn conditions on its side, Riesling enjoyed extra hang time to slowly build flavour and concentration.

In the winery, we ferment in stainless steel at mostly cool temperatures, using a selection of yeasts to bring out the best of each parcel. We taste daily and stop the ferment when the balance is just right, keeping a touch of natural sugar. After blending, the wine is held on light lees until bottling to maintain flavour intensity.

Each parcel from Waipara, Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough is harvested at optimum ripeness and fermented in stainless steel using carefully selected aromatic yeasts to enhance fruit intensity. The Riesling ferments are stopped early to retain a touch of natural sweetness, balancing acidity and shaping the off-dry style. A short time on lees adds roundness and softness before the final blend is crafted with a touch of Merlot for added richness, then bottled fresh to capture vibrancy.
