Pinot Gris

Bright, generous, and made for sharing. Ripe pear and peach lead the way, with a soft almond-meal note and a touch of creaminess. Textured, lively, and gently off-dry.

This is Pinot Gris with real charm. Fruit from Marlborough and Waipara brings juicy pear and peach, lifted aromatics, and a calm, creamy edge. A hint of subtle spice carries into a fresh, off-dry finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.

The 2023/24 season shifted into an El Niño-driven pattern, bringing dryness to the east of New Zealand. Early frosts and tricky flowering in both regions reduced yields, but near-perfect autumn harvest conditions delivered fruit with purity, concentration, and balance.

In the winery, we build a short skin contact, then ferment in stainless steel using select aromatic yeasts to dial up intensity. We stop the ferment early to keep a small amount of natural sugar, balancing the acidity and setting that off-dry style. A short time on lees adds mouthfeel, then we blend and bottle.

Each parcel is harvested at optimum ripeness. Short skin contact builds flavour and texture, then fermentation in stainless steel with select aromatic yeasts lifts intensity. We stop the ferment early to retain a small amount of natural sugar, balancing acidity and creating a gently off-dry finish. The wine spends two months on lees to build mouthfeel, then it’s blended and bottled.
