Whether you’re taking part in a Sober Month, cutting back, or simply curious about moderating your drinking, we’re here to cheer you on. From prioritising your wellbeing to fundraising for a great cause or enjoying a personal challenge, going alcohol-free can be a rewarding reset.
Here are our top tips to help you feel confident, prepared, and supported.
Spread the Word
Let friends, family, and colleagues know you’re going alcohol-free. Sharing your goal helps with accountability — and you might even inspire others to join you.
Don’t Go It Alone
Everything’s easier with company. Encourage friends or coworkers to take part, or turn it into a shared challenge. The more support around you, the better.
Add a Challenge
A little friendly competition can go a long way. Set a goal with a friend, track progress together, or add a fundraising element to keep motivation high.
Be Prepared
Bring your own alcohol-free options to social events so you never feel caught out. Knowing what you enjoy makes ordering or hosting stress-free.
Shake Up Your Routine
If an evening drink is part of your usual wind-down, try replacing it with something new — an evening walk, gym session, or relaxing ritual that helps you unwind just as well.
Switch the Setting
Suggest catch-ups that don’t revolve around alcohol. Movie nights, home-cooked dinners, or daytime activities make socialising feel easy and inclusive.
Treat Yourself
Use this time to explore something new — a class, hobby, or activity you’ve been curious about. Shifting focus to what you’re gaining makes the experience more rewarding.
And most importantly, remember you’re not alone. With a little planning and the right mindset, going alcohol-free can feel empowering, enjoyable, and surprisingly easy. You’ve got this.

How We Make Alcohol-Removed Wine
Our alcohol-removed wines begin as premium full-strength wines — made with the same care and quality as our Giesen Estate range.
Using spinning cone technology, we gently separate the aroma, alcohol, and body of the wine. The alcohol is removed, while the aroma and body are carefully recombined, with a touch of premium grape juice added to balance flavour and texture.
Our alcohol-removed wines contain no more than 0.5% alcohol by volume, which is comparable to what naturally occurs in fruit juice. While classified as non-alcoholic under New Zealand and Australian law, these wines are not recommended for those under the legal drinking age.
