Pinot Noir

Silky and expressive, with red cherry, bramble and subtle spice. Elegant, smooth and finely structured.

An elegant Marlborough Pinot Noir, showing bright fruit, softness and structure in balance.

Red cherry and bramble lead the way, layered with earthy notes and a gentle lift of warm spice. The palate is silky and supple, with fine structure and a smooth, lingering finish.

Fruit is sourced from across the Wairau Valley, a diverse sub-region shaped by ancient riverbeds, stony soils and a range of microclimates from inland sites to coastal influences. This variation allows us to blend for consistency, creating a Pinot Noir that is bright, aromatic and refined year after year.

We harvest our Pinot Noir early in the harvest season to retain acidity and to get bright, fresh flavours. We do warmer ferments on our Pinot Noir to bring out colour and flavours in the wine. We age our Giesen Estate Pinot Noir on French oak for 8 months.

"It's sweetly fragrant on the nose displaying dark cherry, floral, spice and subtle nutty characters. The palate is succulent and nicely weighted with smooth texture and supple tannins. A beautifully ripe and very likeable pinot."
