Vineyard Selection

Vineyard Selection Sauvignon Blanc

Giesen Vineyard Selection represents a diverse range of soil types and micro-climates, each contributing individual characteristics to the wines. Citrus and tropical notes with balanced fruit sweetness and a refreshingly crisp finish.

Sourced from Marlborough, New Zealand, this Sauvignon Blanc reflects a vintage shaped by an El Niño weather pattern. Dry conditions were declared in March 2024, following a very wet winter in 2023 that replenished soils and aquifers ahead of the growing season. Intermittent frosts during flowering reduced crop size, and near-perfect autumn conditions at harvest delivered fruit with exceptional concentration and purity.

The wine shows vibrant citrus and tropical characters, supported by balanced fruit sweetness and bright acidity. Fresh and expressive, it finishes crisp and clean.

Winemaking focused on expressing the vineyard and amplifying fruit character. Parcels were batch fermented using carefully selected yeast strains chosen to enhance aromatics, texture and weight. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that captures Marlborough’s clarity and concentration while maintaining freshness and balance.
