Vineyard Selection

Vineyard Selection Pinot Gris

Giesen Vineyard Selection represents a diverse range of soil types and micro-climates, each contributing individual characteristics to the wines. Fresh and rich with pear flavours, a hint of creaminess and spice, and a smooth off-dry finish.

This Pinot Gris is sourced from three outstanding cool-climate regions: Waipara, Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough. Waipara contributes purity and lifted aromatics, Hawke’s Bay brings richness and weight from its warm, dry season, and Marlborough adds brightness and freshness.

The result is a smooth, easy-drinking Pinot Gris with fresh pear and orchard fruit flavours, soft spice and a balanced off-dry finish. Harmonious and expressive, it captures the best of New Zealand’s cool-climate winemaking.

Each parcel was harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks using selected aromatic yeasts to enhance fruit intensity. To balance natural acidity, a portion of fermentation was stopped early, retaining a touch of natural sweetness that defines the wine’s off-dry style. A short period on fine lees contributed roundness before blending and bottling to preserve vibrancy.
