…between the snow and the sea. Where mountain ranges give way to rivers, and sunshine reigns supreme. Where the three Giesen Brothers discovered an affinity for the finest Marlborough wines, and where we craft our tribute to this beautiful, untameable region.
We’re proud to have been crafting beautiful wines that showcase the best of Marlborough since our very first vintage. You already know that when you enjoy a bottle of Giesen wine, you’re sharing in forty years of passion and craft. Now, we’re bringing you a range that has our love of Marlborough’s landscape and lifestyle at it’s very core.
This adventurous Marlborough range offers a chance to make any occasion extraordinary with our crisp Sauvignon Blanc, sophisticated Chardonnay, and elegant Pinot Noir.
These generous wines offer us the chance to share a distinctive expression of Marlborough’s intense subregional flavour profiles, and for you to discover the deep affinity we have with this untamed, unmatched wine region.
This crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand. The Awatere Valley is well-known for producing Sauv with tropical aromatics, such as grilled pineapple and dry herbs, and for beautiful texture and age ability. The two blocks selected for this wine combine to produce a wonderfully aromatic and delicate Sauvignon Blanc that is classically Awatere in character.
We age this wine on lees for three to four months to give beautiful mouth feel. A small percentage of the wine is aged 1000L German oak barrels, allowing our winemakers to add just a touch of oak while allowing the fruit to sing.
Expect aromas of fresh herbs with green pineapple and kaffir lime, with subtle salt air characters. Enjoy crispness on the palate, balanced by richness from the barrel fermented component. Savour the flavours of grilled pineapple with a mineral edge and subtle tomato stalk on the finish.

This generous Chardonnay is already a favourite among our team! We use only selected parcels of hand-picked fruit, and we pick early to ensure the beautiful natural tartness Marlborough is known for.
Our winemaking team lovingly shape this wine with careful hands-on techniques, hand-harvesting only small premium parcels of fruit from selected Wairau and Southern Valleys vineyards with heavier soils to contribute a wonderful minerality to the wine.
A warmer ferment and a portion of the wine completing malolactic fermentation contribute to the beautiful texture, complex aromas, and bring balance to the fresh, light acidity of the remaining portion. A selection of French and German oak barrels of varying ages are picked for maturation, allowing us to bring out a subtle oak character while letting the fruit shine through.
Look for notes of white peach, lemon, toasted hazelnut, and flint on the nose. Enjoy the rich, concentrated palate, with bright zest balancing the fruit sweetness. Ripe lemon and peach flavours, with grapefruit on the finish.

This smooth, complex Pinot Noir is made with premium fruit harvested from select vineyards throughout the Southern Valleys. This Marlborough sub-region is known for growing Pinot Noir with excellent colour, texture, and ripeness.
We hand-pick parcels from only two blocks in our Southern Valley vineyard, and hand-sort in the vineyard to ensure only perfect bunches are selected.
Our winemakers handle each batch with care, with a portion receiving whole bunch fermentation and a warm ferment to retain the wine’s beautiful colour, and showcase distinct Marlborough Pinot Noir character. The wine is then aged in a selection of new and used French oak barrels, with natural malolactic fermentation occurring in the barrel, allowing our winemakers to tailor the final wine to perfection.
Discover aromas of dark cherry and bramble, with sweet spice and subtle toasty notes. On the palate, enjoy flavours of cherry compote, mocha and clove, with earthy smokey notes from careful barrel aging in French oak hogsheads.
