20% of Giesen’s owned vineyards are organic or in transition. It is our viticulture practice to use organic philosophy throughout all of our viticulture management on all of our vineyards, not just our certified organic vineyards.
We see organics as being about improving our soil structure and helping the soil to hold onto water and nutrients. If the land is continually replenished, the soil will be healthy, and so will the plants and fruit.
This organic Sauvignon Blanc is from the Wairau Valley, from our Dillons Point and Stump Creek certified organic vineyards, along with fruit from certified organic growers.
We believe legacy is vital, so we aim to leave the land better than we found it. That’s why we're passionate about organics - as a means of improving the environment. And as an added bonus, the Giesen brothers are delighted by the quality of the grapes and the rich, intense wines resulting from our premium organic fruit.
Marlborough - Wairau Valley
We follow organic winemaking practices.
Use a small amount of oak (approx 10%) and use wild yeast to add texture and complexity.
Stump Creek is the Marlborough home and hosting space of the Giesen brothers. Guests are commonly treated to decadent home-cooked food, a game on the miniature rugby pitch, or a dip in the swimming pool! "Aromas of roasted citrus and sweet herbs, mineral and peach tea, flowers and fragrant spices. Satin textures with contrasting acidity and a core of fruit flavours that reflect the nose.
